Ginger Turmeric Wellness Shots
Makes 2
Ingredients:
1 orange
1 lemon
1 inch piece fresh ginger, peeled
1 inch piece fresh turmeric, peeled
pinch of black pepper (improves absorption of the curcumin found in turmeric)
1/2 cup of water
*turmeric stains items easily so be mindful of what kitchen tools you’re using.
Instructions:
Add ginger and turmeric to a blender. Then juice the orange and lemons and add their juices, along with the water, to the blender. You can simply add the whole peeled fruit to the blender instead, but there will be more pulp to strain.
Blend for about 1 minute on high speed. Taste and make adjustments as needed: more orange can be added if you want it sweeter or you can add water to dilute it further. Additional ginger and turmeric will add more spice.
Strain out the pulp using a nut milk bag or fine mesh strainer. If you’re not using the full fruits (just the juices), you can skip the straining if you don’t mind a little pulp.
Pour into small glasses and serve! Best to enjoy these fresh but you can store extras in an airtight container up to 24 hours.
