Nourishing Green Smoothie

This nourishing green smoothie is fresh and sweet with a little zip thanks to the ginger. It’s also packed with nutrients. The nutrition highlights:

  • fiber for gut health and satiety

  • antioxidants and phytonutrients to fight inflammation and disease

  • pineapple (contains a group of enzymes called bromeliad that help break down protein) and ginger to support digestion.

Pair with a protein source like Greek yogurt or eggs for a complete meal.

Makes 1 smoothie

Ingredients:

  • handful of fresh spinach

  • 1/2 apple

  • 1 cup frozen pineapple

  • 2 celery stalks

  • juice of 1/2 lemon

  • 1/4-1/2 in piece of fresh ginger (1 tsp ground ginger)

  • 1 tbsp chia seeds

  • 1 cup water
