Peanut Butter Banana Rawnola

Peanut Butter Banana Rawnola

If you think making your own granola sounds like too much effort, I’m here to convince you otherwise. All you need to do for this recipe is toss the ingredients in a food processor and you’re done (no baking required). While there are some amazing granola brands out there, many contain excessive amounts of sugar and lack other beneficial nutrients like satiating protein (and can be pretty expensive, too).

But when you make your own granola, you can control the sweetness, add your favorite nutrient-dense ingredients, and flavor it however you like. Add any combination of oats, nuts, seeds, fruit, and spices, and it’s guaranteed to be delicious.

Want some help getting started? Try this Peanut Butter Banana Rawnola recipe made with simple, nutritious ingredients. Dates and banana chips adds subtle sweetness; peanut butter, walnuts, and pumpkin seeds pack in the protein, healthy fats, and antioxidants; and oats provide beta-glucan, a soluble fiber that may help stabilize blood sugar levels, lower cholesterol, and feed beneficial bacteria in your gut.

Sprinkle it onto yogurt, add it to milk, or eat it plain as a snack—it’s delicious no matter how you eat it.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup rolled oats

  • 1/2 cup walnuts

  • 1/2 cup banana chips*

  • 1/4 cup pumpkin seeds

  • 3-4 dates

  • 1 Tbsp peanut butter

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 2 tsp melted coconut oil

  • 1/4 tsp sea salt (if not using salted peanut butter)

Instructions:

  1. Simply add all ingredients to a food processor and blend until roughly chopped (about 10 seconds).

*I got the banana chips in the bulk food section of Whole Foods and most grocery stores should carry them, but feel free to sub another nut or a combo of nuts/dried fruit in place of the banana chips.
